It’s the middle of July here in Oklahoma and it is HOT! The heat coupled with the humidity gave us a heat index of over 100 degrees last week. 😲 For my fair haired, fair skinned city kids, this means outdoor playtime is at a minimum. So, I began looking for YouTube exercise videos to get them moving on the afternoons that we’re stuck inside. Here are our favorites!
My oldest two were introduced to GoNoodle at school. Their teachers used these videos in the classroom to get the kids moving! The videos are short and silly, and the kids love exercising along with them! I linked one of their favorites below… “Pop See Ko”. It’s a great example of what you can find on this channel.
WARNING: Listen to this once and it will be stuck in your head. 😂

2. Cosmic Kids Yoga
The Cosmic Kids Yoga channel is really cool. In these videos, Jamie tells a story that she acts out in yoga poses. These interactive stories generally range between 10-20 minutes long, but some are even longer. So not only is your child getting the benefits of yoga: increasing strength, balance, and flexibility, but they are doing so in an entertaining way! Here’s a story I’m sure all of you Mommas are familiar with – The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

3. Kidz Bop
I assume everyone has heard of Kidz Bop! However, if you haven’t, It is a group of tweens that perform songs and videos to pop music. If there is something non-G rated in the song, the lyrics are updated to make them acceptable for little ears. (For example, in Uptown Funk, they change the lyrics from “put some liquor in it” to “put some water in it”. 😂 ) I was specifically looking for dance/fitness videos, and found several posted last year under the hashtag #movieitmarch. I compiled them into a playlist that you can access here:
4. Refit Revolution
Ok, so this channel isn’t kid specific, but it’s kid-friendly! The Refit Revolution channel is a fun and uplifting dance fitness channel. The music in the fitness videos include clean pop songs and songs by Christian artists, including TobyMac 😍 ! This is a great channel to pull up when you want to dance along with your kiddos!
Because I love TobyMac, here’s a link to the TobyMac Attack playlist:
